10 points to whoever can name that movie quote :) Last night at about 10 we had a HUGE storm. Lots of hail, wind, and scary stuff. I drove around today and found that we were on the edge of a tornado... so we were lucky. And, don't worry, our weeds survived too...
But our toys didn't...Nor did our tomatoes, zucchini, squash, peppers, watermelon, cucumbers, beans, and pumpkins...
Our porch didn't fare too well either...
This is the hail, it was about quarter size, but the wind made it sound so much worse!
The kids didn't even wake up, and thank goodness we weren't in a tornado or else DAve and I would have still been standing upstairs in the hall waiting for the kids to cry. Next time we'll probably wake them up and bring them downstairs. Now I'm convinced that tornado sirens come way too late.

It might be on other movies as well but I am pretty sure the Genie on Aladdin says that. I can't believe your storm. Bummer that the weeds pulled through but not the veggies!
Nice! 10 points :)
According to The Google "Hail the Conquering Hero" is a movie from the 1940s, but Janell is right. Our weeds survived too. Alas, our screens and gutters, not so much.
That's so sad about your garden! All that work for nothing. I didn't you know got tornadoes in Colorado. Thank goodness the worst of it missed you.
How scary! Your poor garden. That weed is awesome though. When are you going to harvest it? :)
that can be pretty scary! Glad you're okay, especially your weeds! ;) Are you guys in the midwest? I can't remember.
we're in colorado, western colorado.
We didn't think we got tornados here
I heard the storm was bad up there! We got massive amounts of rain and we heard the tornado sirens down here, but no hail. It's such a foreign thing to hear the sirens, because I thought we didn't get tornadoes in Colorado either! But that is a total bummer about your garden! Can I feel better than I didn't plant one, because it would have been destroyed? Ha!
Wow...I heard about the storm. I am really sad about your garden too. I planted a few flowers outside that are finally doing pretty good(actually we're on our 3rd set because I keep killing them) If I had a whole garden destroyed I'd be devestated!
Oh, wow! We live in Illinois, total tornado country, but we haven't seen a storm like that yet. Knock on wood. Glad you're all okay! Kids sleep like rocks, they really do. Spence has slept through some pretty catastrophic thunderstorms. And yet he'll wake up if you flush the toilet in the middle of the night ... why is that?
Pretty scary storm. My parents were scared to death that their skylights were going to break. I heard it has been $350 million in damages. I'm glad you guys didn't blow away - we had sirens up here and some pretty crazy wind but it's so much more fun to look out the window. : ) Coming from Missouri you'd think my first reaction is to run to the basement. Glad you're all okay, not so glad to hear about your garden, toys, and deck.
I am so sorry I missed this huge storm. Looks like it was big
I am glad that you guys are okay! That is crazy. I am so sorry about the garden and porch. That is HUGE hail! Weeds make me mad!
